Oh, that is cool! I love the spot light behind, that is really great! You're camera kicks ass too. You're tonal range in this shot is excellent.

Nice portrait. Like the lighting in this one. You used 2 light sources in this one, right? One to camera left facing the model and one behind the model facing the background ?? Did you use strobes or continuous light here? Well done. Love those kind of portraits :)

catuallu this one is a 4 light setup. a gridded strobe in the back two gridded softboxes aimed slightly upward on the sides and a ringflash on the front dialed waaaaaaaaaaay down as a fill and spectral highlight in the eye. it keeps the detail in teh shadows on the face. im waaaay too obsessedwith light. im a turbo nerd

Very interesting. I love elaborated lighting setups. Did you purchase all of your equipment, or are you more into DIY-stuff? Personally i canīt afford buying all those lighting modifiers, so I often have to improvise (making snoots out of pringles boxes, using white sheets to shoot through in order to diffuse the light, and so on...).

thankfully im still in college where i have access to an awesome profoto setup, however, i graduate in 2 weeks and im broke so im gonna have to start really saving my money so i can buy into a profoto setup for myself. but yeah, the pringles snoot is sweet, aluminum foil is my seceret weapon for everything, its opaque and bendable, also just screen door material can be folded and shapoed and set to diffuse and controll light as well.

I see. I never thought of using aluminium foil... will give this a try next time. Thanks for the info :) I hope you take advantage of the professional setup in your college the remaining days :) Hope to see more of your work soon.
